Hello,

My name is Christopher Kabamba and I love to grow.

*

I live in Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia, a country in Southern Africa. I am married to one Megan B. Kabamba and we have been blessed with a magnificent boy, Kabamba – the light of our world.

*

Personal growth and awareness is a lifelong passion for me. I love to live, talk and write about it.

*

I was not always like this. I grew up not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my life. And this had nothing to do with a lack of academic excellence on my part; I was brilliant in school … don’t argue, you were not there ;-) .

*

I aced my way through to University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. It was then that I realized being “brilliant” in school was not enough; one needs to know what to do with their brilliance (or a lack of it).

*

In the year 2004, as a young man straight from University; looking to find my way in the maze of life, I stumbled upon a little book – an amazing classic authored by a man who at the time had been dead for over 90 years. I still have that copy today. It has one central message: we are masters of our destiny and we shape that destiny by our thoughts. Many of you have probably read the book ~ James Allen’s personal development classic, As a Man Thinketh.

*

It seems to me that truth knows exactly when to show up; that was the case with the truth espoused in this great work of James Allen. I read the book in one sitting; by the time I put it down, I had found my *calling*: to grow as a conscious being and help other people along the path of growth and self awareness.

*

And to this day, that is what I have sought to do. This blog is the offspring of the passion to help others along the path of growth, even as I continue to grow.

*

Life is a gift; it is a wonderful adventure and we are all called to actively participate. But the degree of our engagement with life will be dependent on the identity we carry. Who and what we think we are (or are not) will be exemplified in the level of engagement in the game of life. You may have heard it said, “You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High, but you will die like mere men.”  That is the price you pay when you lose your authentic self.

*

Self awareness is the road back to true identity. Perfection is not what we are looking for; growth is what we are interested in. Plus we are really not after becoming gods and goddeses, we are content at being human. We just desire to become better at it.

*

Will you come with me along this journey?
